Our Classes

Polaris Passport offers small-group language and culture classes for adults and kids designed to make learning a new language feel approachable, practical, and fun.

Our programs are beginner friendly and combine conversation, vocabulary, games, activities, cultural learning, and guided practice in a welcoming small-group setting.

Students begin at Level 1 and can continue through Level 2 and Level 3 as their confidence and skills grow. Classes are offered in the Okotoks and Calgary area.

Level 1 — Discover

A fun introduction to the language for complete beginners.

Students build a foundation in everyday vocabulary and simple conversation while becoming familiar with the sounds, structure, and culture of the language.

Topics may include greetings, introductions, numbers, colours, family, food, hobbies, and common everyday phrases.

Level 2 — Build

Students continue developing their vocabulary, listening, and speaking skills while beginning to use the language more independently.

Lessons build on Level 1 through longer conversations, sentence-building, practical scenarios, games, and cultural activities.

Students must have completed Level 1 or have equivalent beginner experience.

Level 3 — Connect

Level 3 helps students become more comfortable using the language in real-life situations.

Students expand their vocabulary, improve comprehension, and practice longer conversations through interactive activities, projects, and cultural learning.

Students must have completed Level 1 and 2 or have equivalent experience.

Each class includes a mix of:

• Vocabulary and beginner grammar

• Games and interactive activities

• Workbooks and guided exercises

• Cultural learning

• Small-group instruction

• Opportunities to build confidence at an individual pace

Classes are typically offered in 12-week terms, with new Level 1 programs opening throughout the year.
